We can lay below a clear, Virginian sky And watch the airplanes blinking up so high. Above our heads, a hundred stars They shine so bright. Twenty thousand more will help Illuminate the night. We'll dangle our bare feet from a crescent moon. Innocence will not vanish so soon. You are my ray of color in a world that's black and white. You are the sound of crickets by my window on a summer's night. You are the smell of freshly cut grass, And the flowers that bloom in the wild. You are the breeze that reminds me I will always be a child. We can dance between millions of raindrops And watch the lightning flash so far away. And when the the sun comes out and all the thunder stops, A technicolor rainbow will remain. We'll lay upon a blanket in the grass. Innocence will not vanish so fast. You are my ray of color in a world that's black and white. You are the sound of crickets by my window on a summer's night. You are the smell of freshly cut grass, And the flowers that bloom in the wild. You are the breeze that reminds me I will always be a child. So let's hold on to the seconds before they pass us by. And when our futures beckon, it will be easier to say good-bye. You are my ray of color in a world that's black and white. You are the sound of crickets by my window on a summer's night. You are the smell of freshly cut grass, And the flowers that bloom in the wild. You are the breeze that reminds me I will always be a child.

Strangers 04:01
I went to the city for a job interview As I looked for a seat in that overcrowded room, I saw you. And even though I was late, And my clothes were all wet Cause it started to rain And I overslept, I saw you, and it was all better somehow. But things have changed and now We're out on the street, the sun is shining down. Our eyes never meet, there's people all around. I feel nothing. I feel nothing at last. We're just strangers brushing shoulders as we pass. I'll never forget the times that we had Before the good days started all turning bad. It's a shame. It was perfect then. Then something began to change in your heart And all of our plans slowly fell apart. You weren't the same, and you never called after that. Yea, things have changed and now. We're out on the street, the sun is shining down. Our eyes never meet, there's people all around. I feel nothing. I feel nothing at last. We're just strangers brushing shoulders as we pass. I wanted to know what happened to us, So I asked you so many times And you couldn't begin to give me an answer, You just threw out one of your lines. It took me a while to realize that you were never coming back Now it's easy for me to ignore you when we pass. We're out on the street, the sun is shining down. Our eyes never meet, there's people all around. I feel nothing. I feel nothing at last. We're just strangers, always strangers. Never showing we have a past. We're just strangers brushing shoulders as we pass.

Dreaming 02:56
These stars all align And it's the perfect night To slow dance while we talk In the pale moonlight. And I never saw such a sight As when the world fell asleep. And there wasn't a single sound Except for my heartbeat. And my nervous hands, they shake And my knees are getting weak. Because this feels like a dream, One where I'm falling with no safety net below. This feels like a dream, And when you catch me, baby, I hope That you don't mind that I'll still be sleeping Cause I don't want to wake up, I don't want to wake up from this dream.

Beautiful 03:10
You're so beautiful, Guess I'm not beautiful enough for you. Cause I tried to say everything I was feeling inside It didn't come out right. But I'm still waiting, and I'll stay waiting Until you're ready to say that Now's the time that I finally have the chance To hold your hand. The stars looked to close last night When I was lying there in your arms So the direction you chose Doesn't make any sense, and it's done so much harm. I guess I understand and addiction to options But I guess I never really knew what it's like To be on the other end. But I'm still waiting, and I'll stay waiting Until you're ready to say that Now's the time that I finally have the chance To hold your hand. I know I did just what you did to me, And I hope that you accept my apology. I guess it isn't fair to ask you to choose When she's so obviously more beautiful. Cause I tried to say everything I was feeling inside It didn't come out right. But I'm still waiting, and I'll stay waiting Until you're ready to say that Now's the time that I finally have the chance To hold your hand. You're so beautiful, And she's so beautiful, And one day soon I hope it's true That I am beautiful enough For you.

Caught 03:49
Hey, baby can't you see That I've been waiting patiently? I'll keep waiting til you agree That I'm the one for you Cause I know you're the one for me. And I just want to spend my life with you Cause I know that I'll be more than enough. I want to spend my life with you, Cause you're the only one that I have ever loved. Don't care about how much it costs Or if you get down on one knee or not. I've been free all these years, And now baby I just want to be caught. I'm dreaming of the days That we'll spend together as we age. And I'll still think when we're wrinkled and old, That you're the most beautiful thing This world has ever known. And I just want to spend my life with you Cause I know that I'll be more than enough. I want to spend my life with you, Cause you're the only one that I have ever loved. Don't care about how much it costs Or if you get down on one knee or not. I've been free all these years, And now baby I just want to be caught. And I know that it's too soon, And I know that you won't ask But just for the record, my answer would be yes. Cause I just want to spend my life with you Cause I know that I'll be more than enough. I want to spend my life with you, Cause you're the only one that I have ever loved. Don't care about how much it costs Or if you get down on one knee or not. Cause I just want to be yours Don't want to be alone anymore. I'll give you everything I've got. Cause I've been free all these years, And now baby I just want to be caught.

I've been sitting here for so long Watching the grass grow over my feet. Cause you said you'd always be around, But it's turning out to be another lie. And I've been giving my best all this time But it's like you don't even want to try. And I'm tired of ignoring this And I'm tired of crying. Baby, it's not too hard to miss The fact that you're lying. When you say "I love you" With a kiss. Your eyes are so loveless. I was a mess but your love Swept me up and off of my feet. But you're not the man you used to be, And you've turned into another long lost soul. I've been trying to forget your smile And forget that my heart isn't feeling whole. And I'm tired of ignoring this And I'm tired of crying. Baby, it's not too hard to miss The fact that you're lying. When you say "I love you" With a kiss. Your eyes are so loveless. Maybe I'm not good enough for you Or I'm not strong enough to see That if I'm not good enough for you, You're not good enough for me. Maybe I'm scared to search your words, Cause I'm afraid of when I'll find. This already hurts so much, You've got to stay behind. And I'm tired of ignoring this And I'm tired of crying. Baby, it's not too hard to miss The fact that you're lying. When you say "I love you" With a kiss. Your eyes are so loveless.

Fly or Fall 03:28
Some days, I don't even feel like talking Everyone keeps telling me I've gotta make more friends Maybe I'm not ready to move on, Cause the memories of last summer are still strong. And you know it's a challenge when you're on your own It feels like nowhere will ever feel like home again. You know I'm falling And I can't see the ground As it falls in And darkness surrounds my eyes. I can't decide. Should I keep on falling? Or should I fly? Some days I feel like hiding away. Everyone keeps telling me to come out and play. You might think I'm crazy, but I think I miss the way my stars shine in my sky. And you know it's a challenge when you're on your own It looks like nowhere will ever look like home again. You know I'm falling And I can't see the ground As it falls in And darkness surrounds my eyes. I can't decide. Should I keep on falling? Or should I fly? You know it's a battle to try and find yourself When everything is changing and all you need is help. It's hard to focus, but you've gotta try. When you feel like falling, all you gotta do is fly!

Distance 03:54
I feel like we've just started, And now I have to go. I've been trying to keep my feelings So far down that they won't show. When I think of you, My mind is consumed By these past few days. So I'll say to you that I miss you. So I say to you that I care. Don't know what I'll do If I feel the need to kiss you I'll pretend that you're right now. Because distance only separates us so far Before our feet can bring us back again. And the wires that stretch from city to city Will keep this all in place. And then I'll be in your arms again. i found this whole thing A little more devastating Than I ever thought it could be. I don't want to think That tomorrow I'll wake up And you won't be next to me. So I say to you this is our chance. And I know that it's not fair. But one day when you least expect it, You'll open your hand and mine will be there. Because distance only separates us so far Before our feet can bring us back again. And the wires that stretch from city to city Will keep this all in place. And then I'll be in your arms again.

about

The root of it all! This album is a compilation of songs from the youth that I lived before this one. Lots of things have changed, and it feels like I'm living a whole other life, but I still love to share these songs with the world! Past Jesse had just as much to say as Present Jesse does now. Enjoy this album from adorable Little Jesse!
